The I.T.M.A. was founded in 1994 by Master Robert P. Kovaleski Dan #18174.  Master Kovaleski started Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan in 1966 under Master Frank Trojanowicz Dan #13333 at the Scranton Karate School.  There he began teaching and taught among others, martial arts movie star Cynthia Rothrock.  Master Kovaleski continued his teaching and training and was promoted to 7th degree Black Belt on October 30th 2003 by his instructor, Grand Master Ho Sik Pak of California and the President of the Hwa Rang World Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation, earning the title of Kwan Jang Nim or Grand Master.  Kwan Jang Nim Robert Kovaleski founded the I.T.M.A because he saw it necessary for an association not only to emphasize the Tang Soo Do techniques but also its philosophies of faithfulness, perseverance and honesty as well (an association with no politics).  Kwan Jang Nim's wish was for his students and members of this association not only to grow with proper Tang Soo Do technique but also to grow in their personal and spiritual lives.

I.T.M.A members seek to develop strong bodies in conjunction with a strong mind.  When one has good physical and mental health he or she can be more dedicated to their art, their family and the world.

Tang Soo Do can and should be a way of thought and a way of life, in which one puts aside himself for the good and well being of everyone around them.  The I.T.M.A members will always be humble and true to themselves.

Welcome to your new path. Best of wishes, it is a never-ending journey!

Yours in Tang Soo Do

Master Eric P. Kovaleski

I.T.M.A Chairman
